Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits Workers Vote to Join Teamsters
Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits mechanics, hostlers, warehouse and facility maintenance workers voted more than three-to-one for Teamsters Local 455 representation today, a win they've fought tirelessly for since 2021.
"We did it," said warehouseman Jeff Cornett, part of the campaign for justice at the Aurora facility. "It's been a long two years, but we stuck it out."
Today's win came one year after workers lost a prior election by a single vote, making them even more determined to secure a union election victory and a contract for the 54-person bargaining unit.
"We are thrilled that these members stood together to protect themselves and their families and brought home the win, said Dean Modecker, Teamsters Local 455 Secretary-Treasurer. "We are also grateful for the support of Teamsters Joint Council 3 and the IBT in this campaign."
Next step: A Colorado Peace Act vote to secure a closed shop, the date TBA.
